Getting Your Tattoo

The moment has arrived.

Stenciling

Placing the stencil can be tricky.

  • We will be printing off a few different sizes of your designs and turning the one you prefer into a stencil

  • We wipe the area that we are putting the stencil on with rubbing alcohol to kill any bacteria on the surface of the skin

  • In most cases when we go to put the stencil on it is best if you stand in a neutral position (standing upright with arms by your side and head forward) to avoid your design being twisted or crooked on your body.

  • Placing the stencil can be the hardest part about getting a tattoo and it usually takes a few tries

  • Do not worry about being picky with the placement! If you want us to move it, we can super easily.

Equipment and Setup

It takes a moment for us to set up our station and get the ink ready so hang tight.

  • We tattoo using rotary tattoo machines with disposable needle cartridges. Which means none of the equipment we use, to tattoo, comes in contact with anybody else.

  • We use high grade professional tattoo ink that is highly pigmented and we have a wide range of colors. We can also mix any specific shade you may desire.

    • Please keep in mind that tattoo ink can take on a different shade in the skin. Colors tend to become more muted and can take on a slight yellow tone from the melanin within our skin.

  • We use vaseline on the skin as we tattoo which helps to keep the ink from staining the skin as we work and also helps to keep the ink from spreading over the skin.

  • We use green soap to wash the ink off of your tattoo. It is very diluted with water and is skin safe.

  • Very often we use tegaderm/second-skin as a bandage for your tattoo when it is complete. It is a clear sticker like bandage that stays on your tattoo while it heals.

  • All equipment exposed surfaces are sterilized with opticide after every tattooing session.

Sitting

When sitting for your tattoo your main job is to sit as still as possible.

  • DOS

    • Breathe and try your best to relax

    • Let us know if we have you in a position that is in any way uncomfortable

    • Let us know if you need to reposition or take a break for any reason

  • DON’TS

    • Move around or fidget excessively

    • Move around while talking or talk with your hands

      • People do not realize how much their entire body moves while talking so please try to be aware so we can do as good of a job as possible
